Namaste Yogis! My name is Sarah and I'm 24 and only 4 years into my yoga practice. I started practicing in college where I studied anthropology and art. I fell in love with yoga because it helped me leave behind all the stressors of school and focus on my mind and body connection. I love and appreciate the physical benefits of yoga, but I find that it provides a sort of therapy for my mind and helps me be more comfortable with my body, learn how to love and accept myself and my life for what it is. With the combination of my love for yoga, travel, and learning about different cultures, I decided to travel to Rishikesh, India for my 200hr YTT. My training was focused on Ashtanga and Hatha yoga as well as meditation and pranayama. It was fascinating to learn in India, as it has a far more complex and deeper meaning than it does in the West. In India, yoga is a way of life. I'm excited to share my knowledge with you and hope to keep the cultural roots of yoga alive in my classes!
